The move to Kansas City

Well, we finally made the big move. After help from our amazing friends and family, we managed to get everything packed up and loaded. I feel like we could have been on an episode of hoarders. It's amazing how much you can accumulate over a year. We managed to fill up a 6x12 Uhaul, the Pathfinder, the Corolla, and a Highlander. We even had to leave a few things behind. So after a crazy night of packing and loading, we headed for KC around 9 a.m. Phoebe and her Mom went ahead because Chuck and I soon realized there was no way we were going to be able to go more than 55 mph while pulling the trailer due to it starting to fishtail around 60 mph. I knew we were in for a long drive. The drive up 169 was very pretty however. After a long 7 1/2 hour drive we made it!! Driving in crazy traffic while not being able to go over 55 was crazy. Upon arriving to Kansas City, I received a call from Stephen Mattingley, Associate Pastor @ Linden Baptist Church, and he informed me that he had a crew ready and willing to help us unload. They were a Godsend. What took us about 1 1/2 hours to unload would have probably taken us 3 or 4 hours going up and down the stairs. After unloading and feeling somewhat overwhelmed, we went and ate at Tommy's which was awesome. With a full stomach a long day behind us we were ready to get some sleep, after a trip to Wal-Mart of course :) Phoebe headed to bed and I had to finish getting the necessities up and running (surround sound and TV). I managed to get 2 digital channels without bunny ears.

After a good nights rest, we woke up and went to Linden Baptist Church. The people there were great. The church was much smaller than Trinity, but it was a good Sunday morning. We are looking to try out a few more churches throughout the next couple of months in hope of finding a new church home.

Our apartment is great. It has carpet, a dishwasher, is much bigger, and we have drywall!!!! I have been taking some picture of the progress and will post more soon. Here are a few until then.
